Make Mornings More Fun with a Brunch Charcuterie Board (2024)

If you dream of snacking on a charcuterie board for every meal, this brunch charcuterie board is just your cup of tea. This fun board blends the elegance of traditional charcuterie with the comforting warmth of freshly baked buttermilk biscuits. Packed with crispy bacon, country ham, breakfast sandwich-friendly cheeses, spreads, and seasonal produce, you can get creative with the mix-and-match options on this board. That means everyone at the table can build their biscuit plate just as they like! Bid farewell to mundane mornings, pour yourself a mimosa or perfect iced coffee, and tuck into an unforgettable meal.

How to build a biscuit charcuterie board:

First, set out the largest wooden cutting board, cheese board, serving platter, or sheet tray you can find. Or, just use a bunch of smaller platters and boards for a layered grazing table!

Bread: For the star of the show, select a recipe that can be customized with different mix-ins. You can keep it simple with a classic buttermilk biscuit that'll complement anything on the board, or jazz it up with any number of specialty recipes that are sure to add additional flavor and color. The pepper-parmesan biscuits, cinnamon-honey butter biscuits, bacon onion cheddar biscuits, or cheddar-chive biscuits would be lovely! For a shortcut, ready-to-be-bake canned biscuits work great, too.

Cheeses: There's no hard and fast rule on what cheeses belong and don't belong on this type of board. Think about your favorite breakfast sandwich and go from there! You can select from an array of soft and creamy cheeses such as whipped cream cheese, pimento cheese, or brie, and mix in some sandwich-friendly hard cheeses like cheddar, pepper jack, or even Swiss.

Condiments: Condiments and dips are where you can get extra creative on a charcuterie board. As this brunch board highlights the best breakfast bread—a biscuit—load up on all the different varieties of jams and butters to really level up your customization. Listed, we have apricot and raspberry jams as well as country dijon mustard, honey, and salted butter.

Meats: It’s not a charcuterie board without some meat! While you can keep it classic with salami and prosciutto, there is a wide world of delicious breakfast proteins that make great additions to your brunch spread. Here, some crispy bacon and salty country ham are begging to be made into the biscuit breakfast sandwich of your dreams. Or, cook up some sausage patties for a more robust biscuit filling.

Eggs: While eggs are not a common addition to a charcuterie board, they're a must-have ingredient on a brunch board. The eggs can be stacked on a biscuit sandwich, enjoyed with some sliced tomato, or eaten with a simple sprinkle of salt and pepper. Whether they’re jammy, deviled, or even scrambled, eggs add a delightful twist to this board!

Fresh produce: Even the most savory, salty charcuterie boards benefit from some balance with fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Here, sweet strawberries and juicy tomatoes play well with almost everything on the board. Depending on the time of year, you can switch up the produce. Sliced cucumber, peaches, avocado, or kiwi also make refreshing additions. Feel free to place the fresh herbs in a separate bowl so that everyone can sprinkle on their own, or pile them right on top of the whipped cream cheese for a delicious, fresh-tasting spread.
